March - Transportation Unit: We had a lot of fun reading books about different kinds of transportation, scooping in sensory bins, counting blocks & loading them into dump trucks, playing with a new car ramp for choice time, working on sharing, etc!
3/6/15 Congratulations to Kim Ginther: Para of the Year for Missouri's CEC!!!!
Mrs. Moss, Mrs. Hoover & Mrs. Thomas, along with Mrs. Ginther's family, took a road trip to Lake of the Ozarks to see Mrs. Ginther receive her well-deserved award! Way to go, Mrs. Ginther!

3/4/15 Dr. Seuss Week! One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Green Fish (There are no blue fish in a box of colored goldfish crackers...) We did a fun activity with Mrs. Mariott's class: the kids traced each other's hands on paper then sorted goldfish crackers by color. And, then they got to eat the crackers!
2/23-2/26 We celebrated Dental Health Week! We read Doctor DeSoto by William Steig & Just Going To The Dentist by Mercer Mayer, learned about how to keep our teeth healthy, made a tooth craft with a poem & watched The Berenstain Bears Visit The Dentist! It was a lot of fun using the dental mirror, toothbrush & tongue scraper on our animals! (They were very tolerant patients for us...)
2/17/15 We celebrated President's Day with a Penny Experiment! Our Math/Science combo involved counting the pennies that went into each cup & observing what happened. We put not-so-shiny pennies into a cup of water, a cup of water with dishwashing liquid, and a cup of vinegar. Guess which one worked the best?
1/30/15 Re-enactment of The Mitten by Jan Brett
Ringing in the New Year 2015 with Task Boxes! These are great learning activities that the kids are working on doing independently. Each task box focuses on either an academic skill or a fine motor skill. (Bonus: the kids LIKE doing them!)
January 2015: We are working on "Winterizing" our classroom! We did a penguin unit, & we are studying other arctic animals. Pretty cool.
12/16/14 Dramatic Play/Holiday Wrapping Center (Shhh...don't tell Mom, but we actually learn stuff when we play...we sort bows by sizes & we pick toys that will fit in the right-sized boxes! We can also write our classmates' names on gift tags & work on a shopping list)
12/15/14 Snowman Stretch: We got to choose either a Santa hat or Santa headband to wear while we
s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d to push the snowman's mitten! The snowman then played a holiday jingle for us!
